🌾 Organic Farms in Mallorca
Can Piol — Vilafranca de Bonany
The food from Can Piol gets taken out of the ground right when you order it. You can call or whatsapp before to agree a time for your pick-up. Quite often when you arrive on the farm you will find farmer Georg in the field cutting the vegetables your ordered. It doesn’t get any fresher than that
For meat, you can ask to be messaged when it becomes available and you will also get it fresh on the day!
Finca Can Piol spans about 5.1 ha plus another 6 ha leased for pasture. A certified organic operation (CBPAE #031P), it practices regenerative and permaculture‑inspired methods, including no‑till planting, green manure, compost, surface mulch, and compost teas, with no artificial fertilizers.
Their outdoor eco‑garden (1 ha) grows a mix of Mallorcan native vegetables (ramallet tomatoes, aubergine, potatoes, pimiento varieties, purple artichoke) and more exotic crops (okra, mizuna, pak choy, kale, turnip greens), as well as a wide aromatic herb range.
Chickens are grass fed and the eggs are some of the best and healthiest you will find on the island.
Can Piol sells directly from the farm weekday mornings (Monday–Friday) by prior notice, and distributes via an ecological distributor in Palma de Mallorca.
Address: Cami de Ses Pedreres, 19, 07250 Vilafranca de Bonany

Formatges Burguera — Ses Salines (south Mallorca)
This artisanal dairy farm in Campos produces Mallorcan cheese using milk from its own Frisian cows. Operated by the Burguera family (three generations strong), the farm grows its own feed and cultivates a high‑quality genetic herd. All processes—from feed to cheese—are managed on site.
Certified as “MESTRE ARTESÀ” by the Balearic Government, they produce fresh, semi‑cured, cured cheeses, brossat and requesón without preservatives, colourants, or additives. Animal welfare is prioritised: cows have individual beds, automated cleaning, roller brushes for wellbeing, and manure is composted and spread as fertiliser—never synthetic inputs.
Visits to the dairy are possible (often for groups), where visitors learn the production method and taste cheeses. They also sell directly on their farm.
